Danny stared into the night sky and sighed (Hey that rhymed haha…*shot* XD).  Tonight was supposed to be a clear night filled with stars shining brighter than the morning sun.  However, he couldn't enjoy the wondrous night; it wasn't because of ghost fighting, and it wasn't because of homework.  Well, he did have a four page paper comparing The Scarlet Letter and The Crucible's characters due to Mr. Lancer tomorrow, but then again, when did Danny ever do his homework? Oh no, the reason Danny couldn't see the starry sky was because a certain Latin someone decided to throw the biggest party of the year.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem.   Heck, she threw a party every six weeks just to top every party that was happening around her.  But this time, oh this time…she decided to throw a laser light show and hire the biggest band her dad's sweet money could buy.  Oh, and did you know that they also include a firework show on top of that?  So let's see…laser lights, big booming lights just to introduce people, the house lights on full blare, and the rock band's show; it would be a miracle if anyone wouldn't believe it was the middle of the day anywhere within three blocks of that place.
Danny just stared again into the sky then at Paulina's house and sighed while shrugging his shoulders.

"At least invite me to the party Paulina.  That would have made my night a little better…you go and ruin my star-filled clear night AND I don't get the chance to see Dumpty Humpty?  Oh…you're cruel…" Danny said to himself as he lay back on the side of the OP Center.  From his viewing area, all he could see was the North Star desperately trying to shine through the unnatural lights.  The rest of the sky just looked a bleak nothingness, an empty space.  He tried looking at the sky through his telescope, but it was all in vain.  It was so bright the birds asleep in their nests now might think it was day time.

"Hey Danny…" Danny, trying to focus on who was with him now, turned around away from his telescope.  A girl with shoulder length raven black hair and amethyst eyes appeared about ten feet away from him.  She was wearing a light black jacket over a black tank-top with a purple circle in the middle.  Instead of her normal black and green plaid skirt, she was wearing some dark jeans with her usual combat boots.

"Hey Sam," Danny said simply with a smile before staring at the sky yet again thinking the stars would appear suddenly just because he looked away.  No dice.

"So, no luck with the awesome starry night?" Sam asked walking over towards him staring at the sky.

"No…stupid Paulina and her stupid party…"

"Tell me about it.  I think she's trying to bring the 'bright-filled joy of fun into the nightlife!'  Ugh…someone kill me."

"I know, and what's worse is that she KNEW that tonight would be the one night that any space nerds like me would go crazy for.  I think she purposely planned this to ruin my night, and all because I won't date her."

"That's Paulina for you, the damper in anything and anyone with a little bit of character."

"Yeah…" Danny trailed off and just gazed at the sky again.  He could hear Dumpty Humpty about to perform, so sooner or later, the North Star would just fade away, and there would be no stars to be seen on this space nerd's dream night.

Sam looked at Danny with some grief and sighed softly.  She knew Danny had been hoping for this night ever since he read NASA's blog about it.  He and Sam had planned on spending the night looking at the stars, hoping for some shooting stars, and maybe just a little romantic fluff here and there.

"Hey, Danny, close your eyes for a second," Sam said suddenly with a mischievous look in her eyes.

"Why?"

"Cause I said so.  Now do it."

"…Promise you won't hurt me?"

"Why would I do that?"

"Cause every time you say that, you either kiss me or hurt me, and it's always in repetitive pattern.  Yesterday, you told me to close my eyes, and I did, and you kissed me.  Now, you're telling me to close my eyes, and I believe you're going to hurt me!"

"Do it now or I WILL hurt you."

"Yes ma'am."

She then proceeded to lead Danny down from the roof and the OP center to the inside of Danny's house.  "Ok, for this to work, you're going to have to allow me to put a blindfold on you."

"SAM…."

"Danny, you don't get the damn surprise if you don't put on the blindfold, NOW."

"Fine," Danny said reluctantly as Sam handed him a red checked blindfold.  "Do I need to be able to see anything out of it?"

"Nope, now take my hand, and I'll take you to your surprise."

Sam began to lead Danny outside of the house where she had parked her car.  Making sure he wouldn't fly out and wouldn't dare to turn invisible and run away, Sam began driving away from Fenton Works while blaring some of the heaviest Goth metal Sam had to make sure Danny couldn't know where they were going.

"Danny, CAN YOU HEAR ME?" Sam yelled making sure Danny couldn't hear.  Danny just stared directly in front of him confused as ever.  "Good."

Danny sat in the front seat with Sam for what seemed like forever.  All he could hear was Cradle of Filth blaring about some ghost in the fog...Nice song pick, Sam, and all he could see was the forever red checked pattern of a bandana that probably was used in some cowboy costume the Fenton's had lying around.

Sam's car finally came to an abrupt stop, nearly sending Danny flying through the windshield if it wasn't for the front dash.  It was pretty funny how Sam had somehow forgotten to strap Danny in so something like that wouldn't happen.

"Ow, Sam, what the hell?" Danny groaned leaning up while rubbing his now sore head.

"Relax, it's nowhere close to what you've experienced by battling ghosts," Sam said rolling her eyes as she opened Danny's door.  Nudging him to take her hand, Sam then proceeded to lead Danny away from the car, this time not so roughly, but sheepishly so she wouldn't hurt him.

"We're here.  You can take off your blindfold if you like," Sam said simply finally letting go of his hand.

"Ok…" Danny said sheepishly as he undid the knot holding the bandana around his head.  When he opened his eyes he couldn't believe his eyes.

There had to be hundreds, no thousands, of stars shining in the sky before them.  They all twinkled and shone brighter than Paulina's party and Disneyworld's fireworks combined.  It was the perfect picture of a night sky anyone could dream, an almost exact duplicate of NASA's space pictures.  The stars seemed to swirl with one another, creating amazing constellations and a perfect background to anyone's night.

"Sam…this…this is unreal…" Danny said in awestruck as he continued to stare at the sky.

"Well, I knew that Paulina ruined your night, and I remembered us coming here that one night when we were little to see a meteor shower, so I figured it work well tonight," Sam said sheepishly going on with a small blush.  "Do you like it?"

"Like it?  Are you kidding me, I love it!" Danny shouted throwing his arms in the air in a fan-girl like way.  He then proceeded to fall on his back onto the cool grassy hill and look up into the night sky with a giant grin on his face.  Sam laid down next to him staring into the sky while he proceeded to point out different stars.

"Look, there's Ursa Major, the brightest ones inside of it are the Big Dipper, oh, and look there, below the Ursa Major is the Leo Minor, and Leo, and Ursa Minor…it's like a star-gazer's dream come true!" Danny said showing Sam the different constellations by tracing them with his finger.

"They're so bright…you want me to show you the brightest star in the sky?" Danny asked looking at Sam with a giant grin.

"Sure Danny, but I think that title belongs to the North Star if I'm not mistaken," Sam answered with a small chuckle pointing to bright star in the northern direction.

"Are you kidding me?  The North Star doesn't even compare to the star I know about."

"Ok, then where is it?"

"Here, I'll show you." Danny then proceeded to lower his finger and look directly at Sam and say, "I'm looking directly at it."

"Danny…" Sam suddenly moved closer to Danny and rested her head on his shoulder while looking at him lovingly.  Danny smiled, pecked a kiss on her lips, and wrapped his arm around her waist while the couple continued to stare into the starry sky with glee.
My second Danny FanFic. I started writing it right after the last one because I think I'm on a roll, am I?...yeah, I am. Haha.

The reason I wrote this is because the other night I was out shopping with my mom at around five, and I was hoping I could see the stars out. (Here in MS, the sunset's now at around 4:45) When I looked up, all I could see was black nothingness. I was really disappointed, until I arrived at my house (which is like about fifteen miles from the big part of our small town XD), and there were stars everywhere!!!! Yay Space Nerds unite!!!!
